A workshop combining art, nervous system regulation, and ritual objects.

The world demands you to stretch in every direction from the moment you wake up until you scrap together a couple of hours of rest.  Come together in this time of spring renewal and learn about nervous system regulation through art and create your own ritual object.  This is more than an how-to workshop and a coffee mug.  This is a sacred space to gather in community and infuse art, ritual and self-awareness.

What can you expect?

ONE

A solid two hour workshop gathered in the historic barn of Haney's Tavern.  Upon arrival you will be invited to quiet yourself and get centered.

TWO

We will open with breathwork and meditation.  I will share insights on the importance of nervous system regulation, utilizing art to transition from survival mode into a calm sense of self, and share my personal journey and lived experience.

THREE

I will walk you through step-by-step how to create your ritual object by translating the 3D flower into two-dimensions on a mug.  I will also talk about flower symbolism and how that can impact your day.  There will be plenty of time to create your piece from start to finish.

FOUR

We will close the session with reflection, final thoughts, and the opportunity to connect with other women in attendance.  You will also be invited to shop the flower sale downstairs and other creative goods available.

Hey,
I’m
christie

I never felt comfortable calling myself an artist, despite it being something I was good at.  I had to go through hard lessons to truly recognize the artist inside of me.

After my entire sense of self had been stripped away, I began awakening who I really was.  Art became my gateway to healing and peace.  I've learned a lot about survival, repair, and the vital importance of a regulated nervous system.  It's not always about rest and relaxation, sometimes it's about being completely present and that is what art offers.

I openly share my personal story of healing, repair and expression through art.  By coming together in community, we can all share our challenges and triumphs as we move through this life.

Let’s talk workshop Supplies

Do i need to have ceramics experience?

No experience required!  You will learn step-by-step how to paint and seal your own mug.  This is not a messy process as we are not actually throwing clay.

Will the tools be provided?

Everything you need will be waiting for you on the table.  Paint pens, paper, pencil, and most importantly the mug!

If i'm not an artist, can i still attend?

You do not need to be an artist to try something new and creative.  Art is not about perfection and this class focuses on the emotional impact art offers you by pulling you into the present moment.

How many people will be attending?

A maximum of 20 attendees.  One-on-One guidance will be provided along with group instruction.  There will be space for you to ask questions, get help, and have the opportunity to explore your own artistic expression.

Can i share photos from the workshop?

Absolutely! Please share your experience from arrival to departure.  Sharing your art with the world grows confidence and self-worth.

Did I mention the icing on the cake?

flower Sale

Before and after the workshop, the West Side Garden Club will be hosting their annual plant sale.  Browse through hundreds of garden starts, annuals and perennials for your own garden sanctuary at home.  I invite you to choose a plant that calls to you, plant it with intention, and nurture it as a symbol of yourself and your year ahead.

Objects carry energy.

The right ones bring us back to ourselves.
